Announcements

Baseball Registration Forms

All baseball players must fill out an AVHS athletic registration form. PLAYERS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO TRYOUT UNTIL THEY REGISTER. Players can get the forms from the athletic secretary in the AVHS office. The forms need to be returned to the athletic secretary along with a $95 athletic fee.

A physical exam is required every three years by the Minnesota State High School League. You can view the expiration of your player's last physical on the AVHS Parent Portal under your player's name and then Activities.

Captains' Practices - Wednesday Mornings AVHS Gym

There will be captains' practices held in the AVHS gym from 6:55 am to 7:25 am Wednesday mornings starting Feb 24th. The practices will focus mainly on throwing and fielding, so only a glove is required. These practices are optional.

Mr Fritze has been kind enough to be the teacher supervisor for these practices. If you see him, please thank him for volunteering to help out our program.

Tryouts - March 22-26

Tryouts for AVHS baseball will be held March 22-26. Note that this is the week of spring break! The tryout times each day are 5:30 for the seniors and juniors and 7:10 for the sophomores and freshmen. Meet in the AVHS cafeteria. Teams will be announced and practice will start on March 29.

Booster Club Meetings

The booster club meetings will be held in room 154 at AV High School on the 2nd Monday of each month at 7 to 8 pm starting in December and running through June.

The Booster Club has completed another of the planned improvements to the baseball program. The new wireless scoreboard has been installed on the Varsity Field and really looks great. Look for more improvements in the near future as fencing is installed and new equipment is added for the program.
